Wednesday July 17 (Del Mar Opening Day-Paddock PIcks 3o Anniversary)

Hello racing fans,
Paddock Girl here:

   The view of Del Mar looks so alive today, so full of life and horses. Since last week hundreds of racing people and athletes (four-legged too) have started to enjoy the sun and the ocean breeze in their now temporary home:"where the turf meets the surf".

    The weather here is gorgeous and on Opening Day it will be as sunny and shiny as today. Is hard to think that tomorrow thousands of nice looking guys and gals will pack the racetrack, with their hats on their heads, margaritas in one hand and bets in the other.... as fun and stylish as ever!

    Believe it our not, "Paddock Picks"is now a 2-year-old little horse... Happy Birthday to Paddock Picks! This is our second year "on air" and we are more than happy to celebrate it with all of you! Is great that you come and visit this place to check my picks for the races. It has been a great experience and can't wait for the coming years. THANK YOU!!!

As a way to thank you being with us, expect plenty of surprises for this season, I'm sure you're going to love it! The bar can only go higher, right?

On Opening Day there will be 10 races. The featured ones are the 67th Ocenaside Stakes, first and second division, sixth and ninth race.

As usual, "The (One and Only True Fabulous) Hat Contest" will be one of the highlights. Last year the Best Fascinator category was added, and this year it includes prizes for the first, second and third place,  so bring your best fascinator or your biggest hat to participate. Good prizes will be given this year and if you don't win, your face will appreciate it with this weather.

Remember, is the social event of the week and maybe of the summer too (Comic-Con what?), so dress to kill, bring lots of energy and smiles and get there early!!!!
