AFFIRMED it's... still the last Triple Crown winner up to this year.

As you all know, I'LL HAVE ANOTHER was scratched yesterday morning due to a beginning of a tendonitis and now is a retired horse...

   All hopes to finally have a new star in horse racing were gone with the wind. The team guided by Doug O'Neill is devastated but happy that the horse will be ok after some time; still, everyone regrets this situation: fans, officials and even the other contenders of this great race wanted to see the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness winner run in the stretch one more time.

   However, the show must go on, the Belmont Stakes is today and is time to get ready for some action.

   The last leg of the Triple Crown has now 10 horses; the favorite is DULLAHAN who has inherited the spot by being the 9-5 odds morning choice after getting the third place on the last Kentucky Derby.

   As a nice gesture, I'LL HAVE ANOTHER will have a ceremonial retirement at the winner's circle of the Belmont racetrack before the Belmont Stakes starts, giving the horse connections and fans a last chance to see this young champ with jockey Mario Gutierrez on board... and yes, it will be on TV so everyone can be part of it!

Here are the picks for Belmont Park, including the 144th run of the Belmont Stakes:

Race 9:  Woody Stephens S.($400,000):  HIERRO, TRINNIBERG... keep an eye on ISN'T HE CLEVER, seems very clever to me to win this one.

Race 10: Woodford Reserve Manhattan H. ($250,000): BOISTEROUS, BRILLIANT SPEED... include HUDSON STEELE in your 'fectas.

Race 11: Belmont Stakes ($1,000,000): DULLAHAN, PAYNER.

   In Hollywood Park, sadness is very palpable for the news about I'LL HAVE ANOTHER, since HP is its home, but races there seems to be interesting enough to forget for some hours about this.

   Today there are 11 races and three of them are feature ones: the Honeymoon Handicap, the Manhattan Beach Stakes and the Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap. This last one will have one of the favorites horses of Southern California as the horse to challenge: ACCLAMATION.
   Also there's a Pick-6 carryover of almost $75,000 and a prize give away with every paid entrance related with the current hot horse of the house.
