Finally a lovely California weather is staying!
Hollywood Park will be gong for just a couple of weeks to end this meet but in the meantime a lot is going on. We still have some very good quality races to follow.

I'LL HAVE ANOTHER is having a wonderful time at home. The Hollywood Park based-horse is partying like a rockstar at its barn (Doug O'Neill's)... for some reason it reminds me of Zenyatta, except that the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner is a very young boy and will leave to Japan very soon.

In other news, trainer Mike Mitchell had a surgery yesterday, He was diagnosed with a brain tumor recently that now has ben removed. The surgery went well and now he is recovering. We wish him a speed one!

Back at the track, today there are 10 races, including two featured races: the Triple Bend Handicap and the Shoemaker Mille Stakes; the favorites on each of these big races are THE FACTOR and MR. COMMONS, respectively.

Also , there is a pick 6 carryover of $70 thousand; remember that it starts in race 5.

I hope that you're enjoying our great weather this Sunday. It' so nice to have temperatures like this and not being force to cancel horse racing due to too much sun, like thy did in the New York  a couple of days ago.

I have good news about Zenyatta. Our dear Queen Z is in foal again! The luck father now is Tapit and it seems that every thing is going well. Congratulations to Z and her connections, we'll keep you post it of the developments of this story... can't wait to see the baby!

Lots of news going around Hollywood Park and the West Coast Circut. As you might know,  I'LL HAVE ANOTHER has been sold as a stallion and now he will be...at Japan!!! After the retirement due to a tendonitis that took him out of the Belmont Stakes, things are working very well,  its new residence will be the island of Hokkaido... we'll  let you know when he's gone to Asia.

Someone else is leaving California. Jockey Joel Rosario announced last Sunday that since June 27th its new home will be the East Coast. The news came as a surprise to everyone, since he has been the top jockey for the last couple of years, winning plenty of riding titles and stakes races during his time here. Tomorrow will be his last day riding at Hollywood Park... Watch out Belmont and Saratoga, a new jockey is arriving soon, and he ain't new at all.

On different news, Congratulation to jockeys Rafael Bejarano and David Flores. Bejarano who is leading the riding winnings this season, turns 30 years old today; and Flores is expecting its first child in his current marriage.

AFFIRMED it's... still the last Triple Crown winner up to this year.

As you all know, I'LL HAVE ANOTHER was scratched yesterday morning due to a beginning of a tendonitis and now is a retired horse...

   All hopes to finally have a new star in horse racing were gone with the wind. The team guided by Doug O'Neill is devastated but happy that the horse will be ok after some time; still, everyone regrets this situation: fans, officials and even the other contenders of this great race wanted to see the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness winner run in the stretch one more time.

   However, the show must go on, the Belmont Stakes is today and is time to get ready for some action.

   The last leg of the Triple Crown has now 10 horses; the favorite is DULLAHAN who has inherited the spot by being the 9-5 odds morning choice after getting the third place on the last Kentucky Derby.

   As a nice gesture, I'LL HAVE ANOTHER will have a ceremonial retirement at the winner's circle of the Belmont racetrack before the Belmont Stakes starts, giving the horse connections and fans a last chance to see this young champ with jockey Mario Gutierrez on board... and yes, it will be on TV so everyone can be part of it!
