   THE FACTOR did it again. The San Carlos Stakes gave trainer Bob Baffert one more win in a row, consolidating his position as THE trainer of this meet at Santa Anita so far, with almost 30 wins... however, things can change quickly since there almost two more months of horse racing at this track.
  
Today's racing card has 9 races, including the Baffle Stakes as the feature race. STONEYFLEECE is the morning line favorite.
  Now the biggest preparation is for the Big Cap, which will be next Saturday. As usual, other activities will be part of this day and fun will be the biggest ingredient. Both GAME ON DUDE and SETSUKO are on the race field for next week.
  Another thing that will be going on at the track is the presentation of the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award, which goes to a jockey who has been excellent both professionally and personally nationwide. Jockeys like Garret Gomez, Calvin Borel, Mike Smith and Laffit Pincay have been awarded by their peers in the past... We still don't know who has been chosen by the members of Jockeys' Guild as the winner this time, but good luck to all the nominees.

After all the activities from last weekend, we're back into normal racing schedule, but it was fun to have so many fun things to do, huh?  Besides, we did well in most of our selections and now we're ready for more.

However, if you think that there's nothing more than races at the track, let me tell you that's not how Santa Anita rolls. If you get there before the races, you'll be able to be part of Jockey Photo Day. Yes, today you can get a picture with one of your favorite athletes from 11 am to 12 pm. Hall of fame Mike Smith and others will be there, so, bring your camera and you'll be all set.

Today there are 9 races including the San Carlos Stakes, where we will see a duel between the champion AMAZOMBIE and THE FACTOR. This race is going to be great! Good quality horses on this small field of 6, so get ready to have your breath taken away.

Monday 20 February Picks (Presidents' Day)

Hello fans!
How's your day off?

With SMOKING G and CAPTAIN OBVIOUS scratches, DRILL took the San Vicente Stakes under jockey Martin Garcia at Santa Anita. The favorite CREATIVE CAUSE came in third. This win, with other two that returned very good prizes, give us now a pick 6 carryover of $162,000 that could go up to $800,000... isn't that a nice week start?

Also, if you go to the track, there's a promotion of food and beverages for $2 (beer, hot dogs and sodas); since the weather ain't bad today, it might be a good option to celebrate this holiday.

Today there's a 9 race card, including the Buena Vista Stakes, which is going to be fun to watch, since the possibilities here are diverse. This race is tuff, whoever wins, will give up a fight and that only means good prizes for us.

As expected, Bob Baffert's ELLAFITZ dominated the Santa  Maria Stakes yesterday at the Santa Anita racetrack.  Three straight wins makes me believe this horse will be on the radar for a long time.

Today there's a Mardi Gras kickoff at the track that includes live music, activities for kids and 15 food trucks (yes, that means cajun food and drinks). But before you start celebrating, let's go and check the races:

With 9 races on the card, this day promise to be fun. In the San Vicente Stakes, the favorite horse is CREATIVE CAUSE. Race 5 is very interesting too, but the feature one definitely gets the attention.

Today there are 10 races, including the Santa Maria Stakes, where the super favorite is ELLAFITZ. However, race 5 is very interesting and whoever wins, will definitely work hard to get first to the finish line.

   Even though SANAGAS didn't delivered at the San Marcos Stakes yesterday, we had a pretty nice  result at the end of the day... let's call it an early VDay treat for you. Hello horse racing and football fans!
Are you ready for the BIG Game?

  Honestly, I'm just counting the hours for the Super Bowl,  This time, I got to admit that I'm very excited to  watch Maddona and all those fabulous commercials while I spent a great time with my family and we eat a lot! For this SB 46 edition,  I'll be rooting for the Patriots, just because I wanted the 49'ers to play against them instead of the Giants... so, after predicting the SB winner, let's go back to our dear races.

   Yesterday we did gooood, even though we missed that big 43-1 win that gave back $88.60 on I'LL HAVE ANOTHER on race 6.  A couple of very nice winners,  great exactas and plenty of horses on the money ain't bad for the beggining of this super weekend.

   Today races start earlier; thanks to the Super Bowl, action at Santa Anita will begin at 11 am.  We'll enjoy 8 races, including the Super Bowl Party Starter Handicap and Antonio Stakes and there's a Pick 6 carryover of $353,00 that could go as high as -read this- $1.5 million... I think is time to check our picks right now, huh?

   I don't know you but I had so much fun last weekend during the Sunshine Millions. The track was full, the weather was great and the races were very exciting. Besides, there was so much going on that it was hard not to have a good time.
   There were a couple of scratches and therefore, some unexpected high paying winners both in California and Florida, but most of the Stakes races were what we had contemplated on the board. However,  is time to look forward and get ready for the next races.

   Today it promises to be a day full of excitement too. 3 out of 10 races are Stakes: Arcadia, Robert B. Lewis and Strub. Also there's a pick 6 carryover that is expected to be over half a million dollars during the day.

Race 3: Arcadia S. ($150,000): MR. COMMONS with PATHFORK and WILLYCONKER.

Race 5:  BELLE PASS, MISS COMMUNICATION... keep an eye on MY SWEET CANDY.

Race 6: Robert B. Lewis S. ($200,000): LIAISON with GROOVIN' SOLO and ISN'T HE CLEVER... include ROUSING SERMON in your 'fectas.

Race 7: UNUSUAL JAZZ, GAB POWER
