The Dubai World Cup is just about to start. Several US horses are in this competition that includes the world's richest single horse race, like GAME ON DUDE, THE FACTOR and others... and even though the horses entries from other countries are very, very fit and good, we wish them good luck because we hope our American horses will bring home the big purses .

Going back to Santa Anita, today is also kinda big. There are 10 races and it includes a pick-6 carryover of $54,000 that could go up to more than $500,000.  The three feauterd races are the Santa Anita Oaks, the Evening Jewel Stakes and the Echo Eddie Stakes... this should be fun!

    Well, there are some good and bad  news to all the Santa Anita fans. Rain might hit really hard the track today and for this reason, the $1 million St. Patrick’s Day Horseshoe Pitch has been cancelled... you can still try your luck with races, but don't try to do it at the Infield area, because it will be close as well.  


Also, the HBO series "Luck"got cancelled this week, after three horses died because of injuries during the filming of the show. This was one of the latest attempts to show the horse racing world, using very well known actors like Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte, but after the incidents, the show didn't even finished its first season. As you know, Santa Anita was the venue where "Luck" was brought to life, but that won't be happening anymore.


    However, if you still decide to go to SA, you might get a ZENYATTA Poster, where the Queen is being portrayed with her beautiful colt.  There's also a pick-6 carryover of more than $81,000 that will definitely go higher than that during the day, since the featured race, santa margarita Stakes, is bringing back the favorite ELLAFITZ to action.

   Well, wasn't that fun? The Big 'Cap gave us BIG surprises during the whole day. The weather was perfect and people started to get to the racetrack as the day followed to enjoy not only the races, but also to have fun at the infield with all the options they had there...
   However, we saw some pretty rare stuff during the races. Race no. 3 was declared by the stewards a "No contest" after  there were some problems at the gate before the races started. Only 3 of the 7 horses raced; therefore, the purse was divided between all the horses and everybody got their money back at the betting windows...
    Also, on race no. 9 there was something called a "trainer inquiry", after RENEESGOTZIP got hit on the face with a whip by jockey Martin Garcia (EDEN's MOON), which has created several comments inside horse racing fans.

    Anyway, the Big winners yesterday were: EDEN'S MOON (Race 9: Las Virgenes S.), WILLIECONKER (Race 10: Frank. E. Kilroe S.) and RON THE GREEK (Race 11: Santa Anita H.)... and the favorites, didn't do so well, except for SETSUKO, who got second (again) in the SA Handicap, better known as the Big 'Cap.

   After all the unexpected winners, there's a big Pick 6 carryover of almost half a million dollars, which not only sounds tempting, but also could get bigger (even better!)
