Sunday May 20 Picks (Preakness recap)

Hello my racing fans,
Paddock girl is here,

My, my my... If there's one word to describe the Preakness Stakes is: excitement... that's all we had before and during the race this year. I'LL HAVE ANOTHER definitely had another!!!  Now all the eyes are on the Belmont, but wow, what a way to win this time, basically  repeating the same riding style from the Derby.

BODEMEISTER, who finished on second place again, was in the front the whole time, and just a couple of furlongs before the finish line, I'LL HAVE ANOTHER moved fast, very fast, just enough to win for one neck over Baffert's horse one more time.

CREATIVE CAUSE finished third this time, giving California three home-based horse and jockey winners.

The Pilmico racetrack looked very tight. Concerts (Maroon 5 very nice), special activities and, of course, great horse races took over the place yesterday during the 137th Preakness, being an enjoyable event for 121,300 fans who went to the Baltimore located racetrack.

And, not be point it out, but again we gave you the winners for this Preakness, just like we didi for the Kentucky Derby... Congratulations to all!!

Fans in California were cheering for the O'Neill horse (I'LL HAVE ANOTHER) and for his rider Mario Gutierrez, not only because this is turning out to be a Cinderella's story, but also  is good to the business in this state and the now "future" Triple Crown winner has its home at Hollywood Park... which is where we're going now.

This Sunday there are 9 races including the Fran Valentines Stakes; however, the most challenging races is no. 5. There's a high 5 carryover of $35,000, in case you're interested.

Good morning everyone,
Paddock Girl here:

Image from www.preakness.com
The day is here... The second round of the quest for the Triple Crown will happen today and the big question everybody is having in their minds is: will this be the year when we'll finally have a champion? We'll find an answer for that in a couple of hours, but in the meantime there's a lot of information to cover.

As you know, today all eyes are on one horse, I'LL HAVE ANOTHER will try to get closer to the Triple Crown by defeating 10 horses on the filed. The favorite and the most dangerous is BODEMEISTER, trained by Bob Baffert, who not only got the second place on the Derby, but also has a remarkable speed and could leave everyone behind is the strategy is good.
Preakness' favorite: BODEMEISTER

Sunday May 6 Picks (Kentucky Derby recap)

Good morning everyone,
Paddock Girl here:

They say some dreams come true and in horse racing it seems they do. This weekend we just got a huge reminder that everything is possible, especially during the most famous races of Kentucky.
Two different people, one man -one gril, two new faces, two jockeys that worte history with their performances and now they're startdoms. As you know, jockey, Rosie Napravnik won the Kentucky Oaks with "YOU CAN BELIEVE", becoming the fist women to accomplish such title.

Yesterday, "I'LL HAVE ANOTHER" took the show after winning to favorite BODEMEISTER. Jockey Mario Gutierrez did an ecellent job for his first time as a Derby contestant. The 25 year-old mexican  rookie  jockey was not know by most of the more than 165, 000 that showed up to watch the race at Churcill Downs... now, that has change.   Trainer Doug O'Neill  has already declared that I'LL HAVE ANOTHER will be seen again in two weeks to try to get the Triple Crown.

With odds of 15-1, the now Derby winner paid $32 to win.... and the best part is that you got this pick from here as the longshot of the Derby... isn;t that really cool, my racing fans?

Now that the attention is out of Churchill Downs, let's check what's going on today at Hollywood Park, besides the return of top horses, jockeys and traines that went to the East Coast to conquer and bring the Derby home.
Here are the picks for today's 9 racecard, which includes the features Time To Leave Stakes.

Race 3: COLUDA, SKY CAPE.

Race 4: MY DIANE, WARREN'S SAMANTHA

Race 5: HUNCH, BERTRAN HILL.

Race 6: MELISSA ROSE, TRAPPER'S BOUNTY... include ENDLESS FANCY in your 'fectas.

Race 7: FRENENY with SHAUN WASHINGTON and MIDNIGHT CROONER.

Race 8: Time To Leave S. ($70,000): IZZY RULES, TEDDY'S PROMISE... keep an eye on RUMOR, PLEASE.

Race 9:  UNBRIDELED  AMBITION, SASSY AND SINGLE... include MISS SPRING DATING in your 'fectas.

Enjoy the last hours of this exciting and thrilling weekend.
Happy Betting!

Saturday May 5 Picks! (Kentucky Derby)

Hello racing fans,
Paddock Girl is here:

It's derby, derby, derby timeeee!
Just a couple of hours and it will all start.
Image from campuscultural.blogspot.com
Are you excited??? This time there are several horses that could take the prize, even though plenty of people are leaning towards BODEMEISTER.

Meanwhile, Churchill Downs is celebrating with all the Derby fever that gets in motions since days before the event. Louisville is packed and that couldn't get better for the racetrack; people from all over the country are there, just waiting for the early evening to find out the winner.

I don't know you but I'm ready to see it, live it and enjoy it... hopefully the weather won't delay any races today

But in case you haven't heard, fun has already started at Churchill Downs. Yesterday it was the Kentucky Oaks and all I can say is WOW!!! That was such a thrilling race! Jockey Rosie Napravnick believe she could and she did. Her horse, "BELIEVE YOU CAN" won on an impressive move that left "BROADWAY'S ALIBI" without the crown just for a very short distance.  This way, Rosie has become the First Women to ever with the Kentucky Oaks (such a way to make history).

And I'm sure today history will be made again... I mean is Derby time, right?

This year is very very competitive, like we haven't seen in more than 10 years. Almost a third of the field does qualify to be a winner, so basically it will all depend of the pace pace that gets set form the beginning.

Here are the picks for the 138th Kentucky Derby and the rest of today's races at Churchill Downs.

Race 1: ATIGUN, POINT TAKEN.

Race 3: GOLDEN TICKET, WINDSURFER.

Race 5: MILE HIGH MAG|C, BIG BLUE NATION.

Race 6: Twin Spires Turf S. ($125,000): BRIDGETOWN, CHAMBERLAIN BRIDGE... include GREAT MEALS in your 'fectas.

Race 7: Churchill Downs ($400,000): AMAZOMBIE, SHACKLEFORD

Race 8: Churchill Distaff Turf Mile ($200,000): TAPISFLY, ARUNA... include CiTY TO CITY in your 'fectas.

Race 9: Humana Distaff S. ($300,000): SWITCH with MUSICAL ROMANCE and GROUPIE DOLL.

Race 10: Woodford Reserve Turf C. ($500,000): DATA LINK, TURALLURE.

Race 11: Kentucky Derby:
BODEMEISTER, HANSEN... keep an eye on ALPHA and DADDY NOSE BEST, both horses could give a great surprise and pay out really well.
Longshot:  wouldn't it be great if first-time jockey Mario Gutierrez I'LL HAVE ANOTHER won? Now that would complete this historic Derby edition.

Race 13: DYNAMICAL, FLAPSUP.

HAPPY BETTING EVERYONE!
